Guided youth elk hunts that teach the next generation patience, ethics and respect for the hunt.

We treat youth hunts with the same care and professionalism as any other guided hunt. Safety, education and respect for wildlife come first. Every young hunter is matched with a seasoned guide who knows how to teach, not just direct, and we take time to explain animal behavior, tracking, shot placement and ethics in the field.
New Mexico sets aside dedicated youth tags and seasons. We guide the Elk Youth Muzzleloader season in Units 13, 15 and 17, which runs October 9-13. Over the years we have guided dozens of youth hunters, and watching them grow in skill and confidence is one of the best parts of what we do.

Complete New Mexico's hunter education course well before the season, practice regularly so they are confident with their muzzleloader, and get in shape with some hiking under a pack. Elk country is not easy terrain, and a little conditioning makes the hunt far more enjoyable.
